....and it's called WRITING. Seriously, I know that when I told my mom that I was going to switch from Creative Writing to Photography as a major she looked sad, as if she thought I was giving up on writing all together. I guess I'll wait until the end of the month to tell her I've written a 50,000/some good sized number word story. Trust me, just because I don't think I can make a living as a writer (at least not for a good while) doesn't mean I'll stop writing and dreaming. Hell, considering I respond to "DREAMER!" this would be a big problem. XD Realized that I'm going to have a tougher time than I thought at reaching 50,000 words though. Usually I write so much that I decided to think of a short(-ish) story to write here but since I plan on (trying) to turn it into a webcomic I've been omitting tons of descriptive details in there. All the technical details that won't make it in are there but there are almost no descriptions. In fact, I think that after I finish up this current chapter (so tomorrow?) I'll go back through the past chapters and just add in all the scenery details that I'll need for drawing later. I know the point of NaNo is to just write the story, no editing, but I think this doesn't violate the spirit of it. Already at 10,000 words though, hoping to hit 11,000 before bed so let's make this quick shall we?
So, on Wednesday night (the fourth) I went over and Chynna's copy of The Wiz on Richard's TV that Joe hauled out to the lobby on their floor and Angela was there as well (not Richard though, he's kinda part of a different group now I guess?) so that's part of the reason why I didn't update. It was okay, I'm a bigger fan of the original book than either of the movies (but Tin Man was freaking amazing, told Chynna about when we were comparing what details were put in and what were left out in the movies and she said she'll have to look into it, she remembers when it came on the Sci-Fi channel but she never watched it).
Lol, just went to click on the save button here, better keep typing before I really need to go to bed.
Thursday, ehhhh, can't remember doing anything important. Friday I did not see the movie with Chynna and the gang since it didn't sound that interesting. Helped out at the knitting club table trying to sell stuff but nothing sold while I was there. Almost finished the second hand-warmer however, after that I'll start in on my charity piece, a manly scarf for the migrant workers (because I don't trust myself to make anything more complicated for someone other than myself). Also attempted to use the school database system to look for articles for my English paper. Fail was involved, not only did I need helping finding them (since they are all in print, grr, what is the point of having an online database if almost nothing is online?!?!) but the articles I needed didn't seem to be in the journals, I checked the years and numbers, plus on journal I needed was missing. How does an reference book go missing?!?! Never figured that out while working at the library, gah it's so annoying. Shader's been having the same problem I am except that she has to use the online sources for her paper, we are planning to kill the database by poking it repeatedly with spoons. Violent poking too.
More plotting, one of my favorite fantasy authors of all time, Tamora Pierce, hell one of the ladies that got me INTO fantasy, is going to be in South Carolina both this October and January 30th. Naturally we started making plans for how to get there since it's less than a three hour drive from either of our colleges plus back home. Herr Ducky will be living at WCU next semester so he won't have a car but my mom will. But then shader will have no way to get to Boone (since we can get to my house from Boone) unless she does one of three things.
1. Buys an electric scooter and rides that to Boone.
2. (My idea) Uses her portfolio and a skateboard to fly down to Boone
3. (our best bet) She takes parts from every car on campus and builds her own. At that rate we could make Herr Ducky drive us down and they could just pick me up the day before, so I like this plan the best.
Any and all suggestions for how to get a car-less and license-less college student from Cullowhey to Boone in under six hours are greatly appreciated! Someone must have a good idea....
Today, Saturday, didn't go to the football game again, attempted to work on cosplay but was dissuaded since lifetime.com didn't like me and I couldn't get my weekly dose of Project Runway. And I'm behind too, wah. But I have managed to get over the recommended amount of words for the day in NaNo so I think it all ends on a high note.
Signing off!
